As a leader your words are your bond. Your credibility, influenced by your own background or trustworthiness, responsibility, and accountability have to be taken seriously by friends and foes alike. Your people, your banker, and your competition must believe in what you say.
As a leader you have to be trusted, since you have proven that you’re worthy of trust. You must have both the intelligence and the integrity to always supply the correct sincere information since leaders who lack trustworthiness based on trust won’t have the influence necessary to lead.
Effective leaders, individuals who accept responsibility for their own behavior as well as those they lead, who comprehend that they are accountable for the outcomes attained, and have credibility – always act with honesty, in word and in deed.
Effective business leaders know that when you make better decisions you get better results. They also know that their best decisions are those made in collaboration with people whose success they respect and whose opinions they trust. It is universally true that when we harness to power of our peers, we make better decisions 100% of the time.
