This diagram depicts the key elements of high-powered action cycles.
Notice that the framework builds off of the OODA (Observe, Orient, Decide, Act) Loop.
Surrounding the key steps in the process are the necessary elements for effective functioning at that step
High-powered action doesn’t just happen. A good leader enables it. Top performing organizations work the steps diligently.
This cycle can be looked at from two perspectives.
In establishing efficient practices that support your game plan, this cycle should be applied.
However, once your processes are fire tested by using this cycle, and things are going smoothly, it doesn’t have to be applied for every transaction your people make on a daily basis.
The second perspective is to apply this cycle when something doesn’t go right, when there is a triggering event.
Something happens that launches the action.
The stimulus might be a complaint, or some deviation or exception in execution, but whatever it is, something occurs that triggers a response.
