As soon you have documented the processes they are outdated and no one knows how they intersect. The idea of BPM optimizing is an ILLUSION! Yes, the business user is the process owner and he needs to be supported by means for auditing and monitoring but he MUST NOT BE CONTROLLED by the BPM tool. BPM is dead, flexible management of CHAOTIC and AD-HOC processes is the future.
