For over two decades, I have helped successful family businesses develop an atmosphere of shared goals and address the challenges characteristically faced when they are planning for the future of their operations - beyond the current managing generation.
My post-graduate education and experience combines the skills of dynamic inquiry, family business dynamics, organizational and process consulting, facilitation and business coach training.
The result is a unique combination that permits me to help business owners effectively address the predictable challenges that regularly block their road to long term success.
I help them identify what's important to the entire organization and the motivations of each party, uncovering the most urgent and most leverageable issues along the way. I then help them and their advisors develop potential scenarios to determine their next steps.
My extensive experience and working knowledge of how business people interact with each other allows me to add value to my clients situation without duplicating the roles played by their managers and advisors.
My role, as a neutral third party, is to promote open collaboration among the existing advisors and the entire family - in order to establish an integrated approach to planning for the organization's future.
My client engagements take many forms. I can help the group develop a family council or internal peer collaboration process to enhance their capability for managing future issues on their own.
If required I will continue to work with the family and its advisor team as a "planning coordinator" - until their objectives are put into documentation that will assure the objectives will be realized.
In addition to almost three decades experience working with family companies and their advisors, people hire me because I have a demonstrated ability of getting their advisors to work together collaboratively - assuring the completion of the picture the family has for the future of their enterprise.
In the mid-1980's I co-authored the first of three books about management, relationships, and success for family businesses. In 1999 we took our newsletter for business owners online, here, with articles to help businesses grow and exclusive profiles of business owners adapting to achieve their continued success.
In 2006 the a consultant-in-print we published was made available at no charge. "Doing It Right" combines Fortune 500 strategies with Main Street examples to help business owners and professional solution providers answer the hundreds of questions that are critical to the organization's very survival.
In early 2007, based on a decade of active participation and research, I created a do-it-yourself peer group report containing all of the what to, why to, and how to details for creating and managing your own process for growth - along with your peers.
These are the same tools I am using as a professional CEO peer group facilitator and coach. The same resources, without the cost and without the middleman.
And it is delivered as a PDF file and the additional resources are sent to you via email so I kept it cheap enough for everybody!
Using a new interactive twenty-first century conference call service I connect with clients and association members without ever meeting them in person, demonstrating how they too can bridge the distance between themselves and their fellow members to solve their own challanges.
Feel free to contact me via email if you wish to discuss any of our services.
All the best!
