Each month, using the conference call service described above, I interview successful business owners and subject matter experts. This is the only thing I do to get new business!
Over the years I have build a pretty large following and using the simple database marketing system I contact them in advance so they will tell their friends (no opt-in required to attend) and be there themselves.
In addition it's critical that I reach out to brand new people too, if I want the list to continue to grow. I do that with a combination of publicity and article syndication. So here's how we go about it.
As soon as we schedule the interview we write and distribute a news release online. The purpose is to attract folks who are already interested in the expert we've schedules, interested in the subject to be discussed, or want to know more about the problems and opportunities being discussed.
Because the News Release Wire service we use has over 1,000,000 hits a month - our message gets read. And because the service distributes via Google news and the largest news database on earth - we get traffic.
The Yearbook of Experts' website, America's Favorite Newsroom Resource in print, on the web and via LexisNexis® since 1984. We use it to send news releases several times a month, to get contacted by the media for interviews, and to post our upcoming events where the reporters are looking.

Then once the event is over we write an article about what we learned during the interview. That article is submitted to the largest article marketing service around, and they syndicate it across over 2,000 web sites and newsletters.
And because there is no per-release charge for news release distribution, we often submit a follow up release with a link to where people can listen to the recorded call and sign up to receive advance notice of the next one.
Individually the above services work excellently, but when you combine them you have the greatest possible leverage. Each activity is multiplied across the Internet and it's 99% on auto pilot!
